Supercharged LS-Powered 1970 Chevrolet Nova Coupe 6-Speed

This 1970 Chevrolet Nova coupe underwent a comprehensive metamorphosis, culminating in 2022. This transformation involved the integration of a Thompson Motorsports LS-based 5.7-liter V8 engine, augmented with a ported LSA supercharger, Trick Flow cylinder heads, a Holley Terminator X ECU, and Hooker headers. The power is transmitted via a Tremec T56 six-speed manual gearbox, while the Quick Performance 9″ rear end is fortified with 4.11:1 gears and 31-spline axle shafts. Cloaked in a Toyota-derived hue known as Quicksand, the vehicle boasts Corbeau bucket seats, a Pro 5.0 shifter, Vintage Air climate control, and a Kenwood head unit. Further enhancements include Ridetech suspension, Kore3 four-wheel disc brakes, Forgestar 18″ wheels, and mini-tubbed rear wheel wells. Acquired by the seller in 2017, this reimagined Nova coupe is now proffered with build documentation and photographs, accompanied by a Washington title in the seller’s name.

The exterior is finished in the Toyota-sourced Quicksand shade, complemented by black side stripes, trim, and bumpers. The seller indicates that the floor pan, trunk pan, tail panel, wheelhouse, and quarter panels have all been replaced. A Detroit Speed & Engineering wiper motor has been installed. Notable imperfections include a dent on the roof and the driver’s door, along with a blemish on the left fender.

Forgestar M14 18″ wheels are shod with 245/40 Nitto NT01 tires at the front, and Detroit Speed & Engineering mini-tubs are fitted at the rear to accommodate the 315/30 matching rear tires. Kore3 Z51-spec disc brakes with red calipers adorn all four corners. Ridetech suspension elements include coilovers and a four-link rear arrangement, with Hotchkis subframe connectors also installed. The Borgeson steering box is mounted adjacent to the headers.

Inside, the revitalized cabin features Corbeau GTS II front seats upholstered in black leather, with the rear bench similarly reupholstered in black. Sound-dampening material has been applied, and new carpets, headliner, rear deck, door panels, and dash pad have been installed. An American Autowire harness has been utilized, and additional features include a Vintage Air climate control system, a Kenwood Bluetooth head unit, Pioneer speakers, and a Pro 5.0 shifter.

The three-spoke Grant steering wheel, adorned with a red centering stripe, faces a Holley digital display with a customizable screen layout. The odometer shows 1,200 miles, though total mileage remains unknown.

The Thompson Motorsports LS-based 5.7-liter V8, installed in 2022, features a ported LSA supercharger, Trick Flow 220 cylinder heads, a Griffin radiator, a Holley Terminator X ECU, and Hooker headers channeling exhaust through Borla ProXS mufflers. The Rick’s Resto Mod replacement fuel tank includes dual pumps and an Aeromotive fuel system.

The Tremec T56 six-speed manual transmission, reportedly sourced from a 2002 GM F-body vehicle, incorporates a Detroit Speed & Engineering master cylinder and a twin-disk clutch. The Quick Performance 9″ rear end is equipped with 4.11:1 gears and 31-spline axle shafts.
