In 2018, a 1951 Chevrolet 3100 five-window pickup underwent a transformative refurbishment, now boasting a body resplendent in metallic orange, secured to a chassis from a Chevrolet S10. The vehicle transitioned to the current owner’s hands in 2023, who has since equipped it with a robust 350ci V8 engine featuring FiTech fuel injection for enhanced performance. This vehicle also sports a TH350 three-speed automatic gearbox, dazzling 18-inch and 20-inch chrome Ridler wheels, comprehensive four-wheel disc brakes, power-assisted steering, embellished running boards, contemporary bucket seats, and a truck bed floored with polished wood planks. The vehicle is presently registered in New York and is available for transfer.
The truck’s exterior, rejuvenated in metallic orange and adorned with new tempered glass by its previous custodian, recently benefited from a selective repaint by the present owner. Documented photographs of this painting process can be found concluding the gallery. Notable features include gracefully curved rear quarter windows, a gleaming chrome grille, lustrous chrome bumpers, stylized running boards, and a wooden bed floor mirroring the opulence of the bodywork.
The wheel setup comprises chrome Ridler wheels—18 inches at the forefront and 20 inches at the rear—clad in Goodyear and Firestone tires, respectively. The braking mechanism, augmented by power assistance, includes disc brakes at all four corners, ensuring robust stopping power. The truck enjoys a smooth ride thanks to its coil spring front suspension and leaf spring rear assembly, further refined with Monroe Reflex shocks for superior handling.
Inside, the cabin is outfitted with modern bucket seats wrapped in beige vinyl, a central console with holders for beverages, a digital radio, a steering wheel capped with wood, and a FiTech control unit. Pioneer speakers installed behind the seating arrangement add to the cabin’s modern amenities.
The dashboard features Dolphin-brand gauges, including a 140-mph speedometer and auxiliary indicators monitoring coolant temperature, fuel levels, oil pressure, and electrical amperage. The odometer, showcasing a modest 9,000 miles—with roughly 100 of those accrued by the current steward—does not reflect the full extent of the chassis’ journey through time.
Under the hood, the 350ci V8, crowned with a FiTech fuel injection system atop an Edelbrock Performer RPM intake manifold, was introduced in 2024. An aluminum radiator ensures optimal engine cooling, while tubular headers enhance the dual exhaust system, culminating in a robust and resonant output.
This iconic truck stands on a stalwart frame sourced from a Chevrolet S10, with power channeled to the rear wheels via a TH350 three-speed automatic transmission, ensuring that this vintage vehicle moves as gracefully as it appears.
