LSA-Powered 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air 2-Door Hardtop

This 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air two-door hardtop underwent a comprehensive restoration by Restoration Rods of Garden City, Idaho, in 2021, which included a fresh repaint and the installation of a powerful 6.2L LSA V8 engine paired with a 6L80E six-speed automatic transmission. The vehicle boasts a striking red exterior complemented by a red and black leather interior, featuring Classic Instruments gauges, a Bluetooth-enabled stereo, and an upgraded air conditioning system. The car sits on a lowered suspension equipped with RCD Suspension/Bilstein shocks, 15″ American Racing wheels, Global West tubular front control arms, Borgeson power steering, four-wheel disc brakes, and a dual exhaust system. Acquired by its current owner in 2021, the Bel Air is now available in Boise, Idaho, complete with a 2021 build invoice and a clean Idaho title.

The exterior showcases a vibrant red finish, completed during the 2020 refurbishment. Design elements include twin wind splits, hooded headlights, dual chrome mirrors, backup lights, chrome bumpers, and a concealed fuel filler located above the left taillight.

The 15″ American Racing Torq-Thrust wheels are fitted with BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires. The suspension setup includes RCD Suspension/Bilstein shocks, a power-assisted Borgeson steering box, adjustable tie rods, and Global West tubular front control arms. The braking system features four-wheel disc brakes.

Inside, the cabin is outfitted with a split-folding front bench seat in red leather with black patterned inserts, extending to the rear bench and door panels. The metal dashboard houses an AM radio and an analog clock, along with a retrofitted air conditioning system, a Bluetooth-capable media receiver, and lap belts for four passengers.

The two-spoke steering wheel, complete with a chrome horn ring, is matched with a floor-mounted shifter. Replacement gauges from Classic Instruments include a 140-mph speedometer, an 8k-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary readouts. The five-digit odometer shows just over 1,000 miles, reflecting the distance driven since the project’s completion, although the total mileage remains unknown.

The replacement 6.2L LSA V8 engine and 6L80E six-speed automatic transmission were installed as part of the 2021 restoration.

The vehicle also features a new fuel tank and a dual exhaust system.

The current Idaho title designates “Classic” in the Other Pertinent Data section.
