The latest incarnation of the Chevrolet Camaro is very obviously a retro-inspired muscle car, which owes a lot to its predecessors. However, for those for whom it is ‘not retro enough’, things can be taken one step further, with a kit by Lingenfelter Performance Engineering, called the ‘Retrokit’.
It radically transforms the look of the car, transforming it into a very retro-looking proposition, indeed. It gets new lights, bumper, bonnet, spoilers, grille, badging, as well as an additional set of lights, which are, however, optional. It comes in two flavours: base and RS, and the latter features the aforementioned extra set of headlights.
The base kit costs $6,850, while the RS kit is a bit more expensive at $8,150, and if you want them installed and painted, Lingenfelter charges $8,550 for the first and $9,750 for the latter. We say it is a welcome addition in a marketplace where everybody is going super-muscle, lowering their cars, fitting them with JDM-style spoilers, wheels and body kits – it is a different kit, for different people.
