Gasser-Style 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air 2-Door Sedan 5-Speed

Crafted between 2008 and 2010, this sable-toned, Gasser-inspired 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air thrums with the vigor of a 327ci V8 engine. The automobile is equipped with a robust Tremec five-speed manual gearbox, a J&S Gear limited-slip differential at the rear, and a gasser front axle from Speedway Motors. Enhancements include a protective roll bar, a Hurst Competition shifter, an aluminum heat exchanger, Moon-branded instrumentation, headers sheathed in ceramic, lustrous chrome 15-inch wheels, and Firestone cheater slicks designed for subtle traction. Accompanying this vintage speedster are accolades from auto shows, a racing helmet, and a pristine Texas title in the current custodian’s possession.

The chassis boasts a muted PPG black finish, with substantial modifications like a new floor pan and expanded rear wheel arches. Ornamentation includes a vented bonnet scoop, manually applied sponsor decals, silver-leaf embellishments advertising “Morrison Racing” on the doors, and decals from bygone drag racing events.

The vehicle sports chrome 15-inch rims, with Firestone Deluxe Champion tires at the fore and Dragster cheater slicks at the rear. Updates to its running gear include disc brakes at the front, a Speedway gasser axle, and traction bars at the rear.

Internally, the car saw a comprehensive reupholstery during its assembly. The passenger compartment and boot are newly carpeted, hosting an array of fittings such as a safety roll bar, a dashboard with pinstripe detailing, a Hurst Competition gear selector, a Kidd fire suppression unit, a nostalgic barefoot accelerator pedal, and a Grant steering wheel.

Atop the dashboard sits a Sun Super Tach, with additional Moon auxiliary gauges arrayed beneath. The five-digit odometer has been recalibrated post-rebuild, now registering roughly 240 miles.

The seller notes that the 327ci V8 was bored .030″ over and built with the following components:

Fuelie Double Hump cylinder heads
Crane solid roller cam
Crane roller rockers
Edelbrock Cross Ram intake manifold
Dual Edelbrock 500cfm carburetors
MSD ignition system
Walker aluminum radiator
Electric cooling fans
Ceramic-coated Hedman Hustler headers
Advance Adapters engine mounts
Holley electric fuel pump

The seller notes that the car has been fitted with a Tremec TKO 5-speed manual transmission, Lakewood bellhousing, Lakewood scatter shield, Centerforce clutch, Northwest Drivetrain driveshaft, and J&S Gear Grand National limited-slip rear end with 4.10 gears.
