Fuel-Injected 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air 2-Door Convertible

This 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air two-door convertible is powered by a 283ci V8 engine featuring Rochester fuel injection. After the seller acquired it via BaT in May 2023, it was upgraded with a four-speed 4L60E automatic transmission, Wilwood disc brakes, and a new master cylinder. Originally restored in the 1990s, the car sports a red exterior with a red and silver interior. Key features include a white soft top, 14″ wheels, a Continental kit, and a push-button AM radio. The vehicle is being offered with a clean California title under the seller’s name.

The body, previously refinished in red, is complemented by a white soft top, ribbed aluminum tail-fin inserts, and a rear Continental kit. Other exterior elements include hood-mounted wind splits, rear fender skirts, and chrome bumpers, with some wear noted on the soft top.

After the seller’s acquisition, Wilwood disc brakes and a master cylinder were installed. The 14″ body-colored wheels are equipped with covers and wrapped in 7.50″ Firestone Deluxe Champion wide-whitewall tires.

Inside, the bench seats are upholstered in red and silver vinyl, matched with coordinated door panels and red carpeting. The dashboard is accented by textured aluminum trim and painted to match the body color. Features include a push-button AM radio, a locking glovebox, a cabin heater, and lap belts, although the driver’s door is reported to be difficult to open from the inside.

The two-spoke steering wheel features a chrome horn ring and frames a 120-mph speedometer along with gauges for temperature and fuel. An AutoMeter 7k-rpm tachometer is mounted below the dashboard. The five-digit odometer reads 1,200 miles, with roughly 100 miles added by the current owner, though total mileage is unknown.

The replacement 283ci V8 engine is equipped with Rochester mechanical fuel injection, and the four-speed 4L60E automatic transmission was installed post-acquisition by the seller.
