This 1964 Chevrolet Chevy II Nova 400 is a two-door coupe that has undergone a cosmetic refreshment before the seller acquired it in 2022. It has remained registered in California since its initial purchase. The vehicle is equipped with a replacement 350ci V8 engine paired with a modified three-speed TH350 automatic transmission. It sports a white exterior with red cloth and vinyl upholstery. The car also boasts 15″ Rally-style wheels, a CPP Mini Subframe kit, tubular lower control arms, subframe connectors, a rear sway bar, Caltracs traction bars, front disc brakes, a B&M shifter, an Edelbrock carburetor, an aluminum intake manifold, and tubular headers. Along with the Nova coupe, the seller is including manufacturer’s literature, parts receipts, shop manuals, a novelty sign, and a clean California title in their name.
The automobile originally departed from the Ermine White (936) factory paint, but it is believed to have undergone a repaint during its prior ownership. On the outside, you will find distinctive features such as Corvette and SS emblems, shiny trim and moldings, chrome bumpers, dual side mirrors, and a polished gas cap with dual exhaust outlets. The vehicle comes equipped with restored California black license plates attached to the bumpers, which are part of the sale package.
Silver 15″ Rally-style wheels wear polished center caps and beauty rings and are mounted 185/65 front and 235/60 rear BFGoodrich Traction T/A tires. Additional equipment includes subframe connectors, a rear sway bar, Caltracs traction bars, and Edelbrock shocks. The front suspension has been modified with a CPP Mini Subframe kit including a bolt-on steel cross-member and tubular lower control arms. Braking is handled by front discs and rear drums.
The cabin features front and rear bench seats trimmed in red cloth and vinyl upholstery joined by a color-coordinated dashboard, carpets, and door panels. Appointments include a B&M shifter, red Nova-branded rubber floor mats, polished door sill plates, and a Delco AM radio.
The red leather-wrapped Lecarra steering wheel frames a 120-mph speedometer and a column-mounted Sunpro tachometer with an adjustable redline pointer set to 5,500 rpm. Auxiliary gauges for engine temperature, voltage, and oil pressure are mounted under the dashboard. The five-digit mechanical odometer indicates 92k miles, approximately 300 of which were added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.
The replacement 350ci V8 is said to have been installed in February 2023 and features an Edelbrock carburetor, a Summit aluminum intake manifold, tubular headers, a polished air cleaner lid, and finned valve covers.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a three-speed TH350 automatic transmission that is said to have been modified with a B&M performance shift kit and a 2,100-rpm stall speed torque converter.
