383 Stroker-Powered 1957 Chevrolet 3100 Big Window Stepside Pickup

The 1957 Chevrolet 3100 stepside pickup, affectionately named “Picasso,” underwent significant modifications by its previous owner. Central to these transformations is a robust 383ci stroker V8 engine paired with a 700R4 automatic transmission. A front clip from a 1974 Camaro enhances the vehicle’s front end, while a Positraction rear end from a 1955 Corvette graces the back. The truck sits lower to the ground, its interior has been reupholstered, and its exterior features a sanded, distressed look. Additional attributes include a cab visor, Camaro-style wheels, an aluminum radiator, a Holley four-barrel carburetor, an aluminum intake manifold, and tubular headers connected to a dual exhaust system. A vintage-look stereo rounds out the enhancements. Acquired by the current owner in 2021, this Big Window Task Force pickup comes with service records, spare parts, and Connecticut registration.

During its prior ownership, multiple paint layers were applied and then sanded to achieve a distressed aesthetic. The cab corners and window moldings have been replaced, and an electric wiper conversion was installed. The hood bears a signature reminiscent of Picasso.

An aluminum gas tank has been strategically mounted beneath the bed, with a filler positioned in the bed floor.

Camaro-style wheels and a front clip reportedly sourced from a 1974 Camaro have been installed, while the rear end hails from a 1955 Corvette. The rear frame has been C-notched to accommodate the lowered suspension, and the truck boasts power steering along with a new master brake cylinder and control arm bushings.

Inside the cab, a bench seat upholstered in custom tan leather—though marred by a tear on the right side—provides seating. A diamond-stitched headliner has been added, with new sun visors, armrests, and a dome light. The floor is lined with a rubber mat, and aftermarket speakers have been installed in the kick panels to complement the vintage-look stereo.

A three-spoke steering wheel fronts a replacement gauge cluster. The five-digit odometer shows 1,000 miles, approximately 400 of which were added by the current owner.

The 383ci stroker V8 features a Holley four-barrel carburetor mounted on an aluminum intake manifold. Tubular headers and an aluminum radiator are also part of the package, and the wiring harness has been replaced.

The 700R4 transmission is linked to a Positraction rear end. An aluminum pan kit was installed in 2015, and the transmission lines were replaced in 2019.

The truck does not have a title, as it is registered in a state that does not issue titles for vehicles of its age. It is sold with its Connecticut registration.
