1957 Chevrolet Bel Air 2-Door Hardtop

The 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air two-door hardtop, revitalized with a fresh coat of paint in the early 2000s, found its way into the possession of the current owner’s spouse in Iowa during the early 2010s. This classic vehicle is driven by a 283ci Turbo-Fire V8 engine mated to an automatic transmission. It boasts an interior adorned with silver and black upholstery, a JVC cassette stereo, an electric auxiliary cooling fan, dual exhausts, wheel covers, whitewall tires, power steering, and power brakes. Notably, the ball joints received replacement in April 2024. Presently, this Bel Air is available for sale in Texas through dealer consignment, complete with spare parts and a clean Iowa title.

Originally manufactured in Dusk Pearl with an Imperial Ivory roof (822D), this car underwent a repaint circa 2003 under previous ownership. Its features include twin wind splits, hooded headlights, a driver-side mirror, gold-colored trim, aluminum quarter-panel trim inserts, turned-down exhaust tips, and chrome bumpers and trim. A badge from Knudsen Chevrolet Company of Albert Lea, Minnesota, graces the trunk lid.

The car rides on body-color 14″ steel wheels adorned with faux knock-off covers and shod with G78-14 Remington Cushion-Aire whitewall tires. Braking is handled by power-assisted drums at both the front and rear, and the car benefits from power steering. The ball joints were replaced in April 2024.

Inside, the cabin features a split-folding front bench seat upholstered in silver vinyl with patterned black inserts. Interior amenities include a JVC cassette stereo, black carpeting, an analog clock, a heater, a dome light, and vent windows.

The two-spoke steering wheel, featuring a chrome horn ring, frames a 120-mph speedometer flanked by gauges for coolant temperature and fuel level. The five-digit odometer displays 36k miles.

The 283ci Turbo-Fire V8 engine, finished in orange and topped by a Carter carburetor, includes an added electric auxiliary cooling fan.

Power is delivered to the rear wheels through an automatic transmission.
