427-Powered 1969 Chevrolet Camaro SS Coupe 5-Speed

This 1969 Chevrolet Camaro SS coupe underwent a custom build by Classic Car Studio in St. Louis, Missouri, and was featured on the Velocity series “Speed Is the New Black.” The car has been refinished in black with ivory and houndstooth upholstery. It boasts a Chevrolet Performance 427ci V8 crate engine paired with a five-speed manual transmission and an Eaton TrueTrac limited-slip differential. Additional features include a Vintage Air climate control system, a hidden Kenwood audio system, Recaro front seats, Baer drilled and slotted disc brakes, 18″ Boyd’s wheels, and a Detroit Speed and Engineering suspension with adjustable coilovers. Acquired by the seller in 2019, this modified Camaro SS coupe comes with service records and a clean Wisconsin title in the seller’s name.

During the 2017 build, the body was refinished in black with white accent stripes, and a mini-tub kit was added to the trunk. Notable exterior details include a rear spoiler, SS badging, simulated hood vents, and aftermarket headlights.

The car features five-spoke Boyd’s wheels, 18×10″ at the front and 18×12″ at the rear, fitted with 275/35 and 335/30 Michelin Pilot Sport tires. Subframe connectors and Detroit Speed and Engineering suspension components, including fabricated control arms, a four-link rear setup, and double-adjustable coilovers, enhance the handling. The braking system includes Baer calipers and drilled and slotted rotors.

Inside, Recaro bucket seats upholstered in ivory vinyl with houndstooth inserts were installed, along with a hidden Kenwood sound system and Vintage Air climate control. The dashboard features a 140-mph speedometer and tachometer, with AutoMeter gauges for voltage, water temperature, fuel level, and oil pressure. The five-digit odometer reads 10,000 miles, with approximately 1,500 miles added by the current owner. The total mileage is unknown.

The Chevrolet Performance 427ci V8 engine was installed by BBT Fabrications of Champaign, Illinois, and includes an aluminum intake manifold and cylinder heads, an aluminum radiator with dual electric cooling fans, and Hooker Super Comp headers that feed into a dual exhaust system with electronic cut-outs. The power is delivered to the rear wheels through a Tremec TKO600 five-speed manual transmission and an Eaton TrueTrac 3.73:1 differential.
