1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS LS-6 Tribute

Exterior: Born and raised in Georgia, this car boasts rust-free original metal and still features factory spot welds on the lower quarter panels. Its body is perfectly straight and undamaged, with a cowl induction hood and a functional flapper door. The car is painted in tuxedo black, polished to a mirror finish, and free from a vinyl top. Correctly painted white stripes complement the sleek look. All the weatherstrips and seals have been replaced. The chrome, emblems, and moldings are brand new, as are the SS wheels and BFG tires.

Interior: Fully restored from the carpet to the headliner, this interior is back to its factory condition. All the reproduction elements—carpet, upholstery, door panels, headliner, and visors—are brand new. The seats have been fitted with new trim and headrests. Every component of the dash is new, including the instrument bezel, factory SS gauges (with tachometer), dash pad, knobs, vents, heater control panel, and more. It also features a deluxe steering wheel and a console, with the 5-speed shifter cleverly disguised as a Muncie 4-speed.

Engine Compartment: This car boasts an authentic LS-6 block with a 512 casting and CRV stamp. The engine is completely rebuilt with aluminum Chevy bowtie heads, an original aluminum LS-6 intake, dual-feed Holley carburetor, and stainless headers. Every component, from the alternator to the wiper motor, is brand new. The power steering and power brake systems, featuring a cadmium-plated booster, are also entirely new. The wiring is fresh, complete with spring clamp battery cables, and the cooling system is newly installed with reproduction hoses and clamps. The fully functional cowl induction system is neatly painted and detailed.

Trunk Compartment: The trunk lid and jamb are painted in glossy black, with the interior showcasing rust-free metal with a neat spatter finish. It features reproduction weatherstripping, decals, and a trunk mat, and is complete with a jack and spare.

Underside: The body has been removed from the frame, with nearly every component replaced or restored. It has the F-41 suspension package, including boxed rear control arms and front and rear sway bars. The suspension and steering systems have been fully rebuilt, and the rear is upgraded with air shocks. The fuel and brake systems, including front disc brakes and a working e-brake assembly, are brand new. A custom exhaust system with an X-pipe, stainless mufflers, and cowbell SS tips completes the setup. The motor, still spotless in Chevy Orange, has been upgraded with a high-torque starter. The transmission is a Tremec 5-speed with a hydraulic clutch, and a new driveshaft connects to the 12-bolt posi rear end. The floors are pristine, painted in red oxide primer, with the chassis detailed in satin black.

Service: The car has been inspected and undergone a few adjustments, including tightening minor oil leaks, cleaning the reverse light switch and headlight connector, calibrating the speedometer, rewiring the tachometer, replacing the amp gauge, repairing the blower switch connection, installing a new rearview mirror, and adjusting the e-brake cables.

If you’re looking for a fresh restoration, this car is for you! With less than 100 miles since restoration, nearly every part has been replaced or restored. It’s truly a bodybuilder in a tuxedo!
