454-Powered 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu Sport Coupe

This 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu Sport Coupe underwent refurbishment around 24 years ago under previous ownership, during which it was repainted in champagne gold with a black vinyl roof and stripes. The car is equipped with a replacement 454ci V8 engine paired with a three-speed automatic transmission. Key features include a Positraction limited-slip differential, 14″ Sport wheels, front disc brakes, a cowl-induction hood, a black grille, a driver-side mirror, a horseshoe-style shifter, an AM/FM radio, air conditioning, and a center console, along with an Edelbrock aluminum intake manifold. Acquired by the selling dealer in 2023, the vehicle is now being offered with a clean Indiana title.

Originally painted green, the car was repainted in champagne gold with black stripes and a black vinyl roof during the 2000 refurbishment. Additional features include a cowl induction hood, SS badging, a driver-side mirror, and hideaway windshield wipers.

The 14″ sport wheels are fitted with BFGoodrich Radial T/A white-letter tires. The car also has power steering, with braking managed by power-assisted front discs and rear drums.

The interior features front bucket and rear bench seats reupholstered in black vinyl, along with a horseshoe-style shifter, a center console, an AM radio, and air conditioning.

The tilting steering wheel frames a 120-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, and an analog clock, alongside gauges for amperage, fuel level, and coolant temperature. An oil-pressure gauge is mounted beneath the dashboard. The five-digit odometer reads 54k miles, about 50 of which were added by the current owner. However, the total mileage is unknown.

Powering the car is a replacement 454ci V8 engine, featuring an Edelbrock aluminum intake manifold, a four-barrel carburetor, and a cowl-induction air cleaner assembly. The seller notes that there is some oil seepage from the oil pan gasket.

Power is delivered to the rear wheels via a Turbo Hydra-Matic three-speed automatic transmission and a Positraction limited-slip differential.
