When a woman notices a dog shivering in the cold, she offers her own coat to help keep him warm.

In Cambridge, Massachusetts’ Harvard Square, Kristina Hollie and a colleague were waiting for the bus when they saw a cute puppy and his mother performing errands. Sadly, his mother was about to enter the post office and was unable to bring the dog inside with her. Everyone who was watching was moved by what she did after starting to tie him to a tree.

It was quite chilly and windy outside, remarked Hollie. He was clearly shaking, and I could see it. She must have seen it also since she quickly removed her jacket and covered the dog as he was sitting. Perhaps she worried that he might kick it off, so she knelt down and wrapped it around him. .

The dog’s mother wrapped her jacket on him as he sat still, eager to wear something warm. Even though she was only gone for a short while, it was obvious that the lady would have brought her dog inside with her if she could, and because she couldn’t, she wanted to make sure he was as comfortable as possible until she returned.

As soon as she stood up and passed me, I informed her that what she done was really kind and considerate, Hollie said. She just said, “Thank you! I do not want him to be chilled. The cute dog was sitting on the sidewalk wearing his jacket when a number of people stopped to snap his photo or remark on how comfortable it was.

The woman said, “I saw two or three other people walk past him and comment that he looked very cute and very warm.” Finally, Hollie’s bus showed up. As she boarded, she turned to gaze at the dog waiting for his mother, who loved him enough to give him the jacket from her own back, proudly sitting on the sidewalk in his outfit.

It is our duty as pet owners to make sure that our helpless little creatures are kept warm and cozy. The lady in this tale is a very admirable pet caretaker and the perfect example for all pet owners around! Let’s follow her lead and work to ensure our dogs’ welfare!
