Mother’s tiger cub Rᴇᴊᴇᴄᴛᴇᴅ finds best friend among puppies

Dogs are man’s best friend, but that doesn’t mean they can’t befriend other species than humans or their own creatures. It used to be thought that dogs and cats couldn’t get along, but that hasn’t been the case for a long time.

There is ample evidence that dogs are very social animals and can make friends with other animals such as ducks, hedgehogs and even tigers. Here we are talking about a Bengal tiger cub named Hunter and German Pointer puppy Chelsea. Despite all their differences, they are the closest of friends.

Chelsea is only three weeks older than Hunter, and both are protected by Pretoria’s Wɪʟᴅʟɪꜰᴇ Reserve Sᴏᴜᴛʜ Aꜰʀɪᴄᴀ. Hunter was born in Farm-in-Wee, but left his mother as she began to show signs towards him after his death. They knew they could raise tiger cubs, but important life lessons are still missing because tiger cubs have no brothers or sisters.

That’s when Hunter met German Pointer puppy Chelsea.

Chelsea’s owner, Anthea, is one of the volunteers at the shelter, so she often takes Chelsea for walks to see the animals.

The two animals became stuck as soon as they were introduced to each other. Anthea says: “In the morning when I take her Chelsea out, Chelsea runs to the cage to say hello. There was a lot of wrestling and Chelsea slapped him and then he jumped on her.”

This unusual duo spends much of their time playing together under the supervision of a caretaker. Unfortunately, Anthea said that connection could end in a few months when Hunter turns six months old, at which point it will be difficult for Chelsea to continue playing.
