20-Years-Owned 1960 Chevrolet Corvette 283/230 4-Speed

This 1960 Chevrolet Corvette is equipped with a 283ci V8 engine paired with a four-speed manual transmission and has been refinished in yellow with black vinyl interior. Notable features include a white convertible soft top, 15-inch steel wheels, windshield washers, lap belts, an AM radio, and a rearview mirror mounted on the dashboard. The seller, who purchased the vehicle in 2004, has recently had the carburetor rebuilt in preparation for the sale. The Corvette is now available with a transferable New York registration under the seller’s name.

Previously, the car was refinished in yellow with white coves under former ownership. The exterior includes a white convertible soft top, quadruple headlights, split chrome bumpers, fender vents, and dual exhaust outlets. Detailed photos of the exterior are provided in the gallery below.

The 15-inch steel wheels are adorned with spinner-style covers and are fitted with 205/75 Coker Classic tires. The factory equipment includes an independent front suspension and semi-elliptical rear leaf springs.

Inside, the cabin features two bucket seats upholstered in black vinyl, complemented by a color-coordinated dashboard, carpets, and door panels. Additional equipment includes sunshades, lap belts, an AM radio, and a dash-mounted rearview mirror.

The three-spoke steering wheel fronts a sweeping 160-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and gauges for fuel level, coolant temperature, battery charge, and oil pressure. The five-digit odometer shows 90k miles, with approximately 1k of those added by the current owner, although the total mileage remains unknown.

The 283ci V8 engine, equipped with a four-barrel carburetor, was originally rated at 230 horsepower, with the carburetor being rebuilt in 2024.

The engine pad’s stamping indicates a CQ suffix, which aligns with a 283ci V8 engine rated at 230 horsepower, specifically designated for a 1960 Corvette with a four-barrel carburetor and manual transmission.

Power is delivered to the rear wheels through the four-speed manual transmission. The vehicle does not have a title, as it is registered in a state that does not issue titles for vehicles of this age. It is being sold based on its registration.
