1963 Chevrolet Corvette Split-Window Coupe 4-Speed

This 1963 Chevrolet Corvette split-window coupe boasts a 327ci V8 engine paired with a four-speed manual transmission, finished in a sleek silver exterior complemented by dark blue upholstery. It was repainted in the 1970s and remained with its second owner until around 2014. Notable features include 15″ steel wheels with three-eared knock-off spinner-style hubcaps, an AM/FM radio, concealed headlights, and a dual exhaust system. Acquired by the current seller in 2023, it comes with manufacturer’s literature and a clean Texas title.

Originally finished in Silver Blue, the fiberglass body was refinished in metallic silver in the 1970s. The exterior features flip-up headlamps, fender vents, quad tail lamps, chrome bumperettes, and dual exhaust tips exiting through the rear valance. Some paint chips on panel edges and other imperfections are visible in the gallery.

The 15” steel wheels are fitted with three-eared knock-off spinner-style hubcaps and 205/75 Super Ride radial tires. This C2 model was the first Corvette to feature fully independent suspension, with upper and lower control arms at the front and a three-link setup with a transverse leaf spring at the rear. It uses four-wheel drum brakes.

Inside, the cabin is outfitted with two bucket seats upholstered in dark blue vinyl, matching door panels, and blue carpets. Amenities include a heater, an AM/FM radio, an analog clock, and lap belts.

The three-spoke steering wheel frames a 160-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and gauges for amperage, oil pressure, coolant temperature, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 94k miles, with around 50 miles added by the current owner.

Under the hood, the 327ci V8 engine features a single four-barrel carburetor and chrome accents on the air cleaner lid and ignition cover. The radiator was replaced during the current ownership.

The engine stamping is pictured above, and power is delivered to the rear wheels via a four-speed manual transmission.
