1959 Chevrolet Apache 3100 Big Window Stepside Pickup 3-Speed

This 1959 Chevrolet Apache 3100 stepside pickup was purchased by the current owner in 2024, reportedly after it had been in storage for around 15 years by the original owner’s family. Since then, the truck has undergone significant updates, including an engine overhaul, brake system refresh, reupholstered bench seat, and replacement of the wood bed trim, bumpers, battery, and ignition wires. It sports a blue exterior with a green interior and is powered by a 235.5ci inline-six engine paired with a three-speed manual transmission. The truck, part of Chevrolet’s Task Force series, comes with records from the present ownership and a salvage California title under the seller’s name.

The body features a blue finish with visible fading in the paint. A new wood bed kit, along with front and rear bumpers, was installed in 2024. Key exterior features include a wraparound rear window, spotlight, dual side mirrors, quad headlights, a fender-mounted spare tire, and quarter vent windows.

The 15″ steel wheels are fitted with bright trim rings, hubcaps, and 235/60 BFGoodrich tires. The four-wheel drum brakes were refreshed in July 2024, with work including resurfacing the drums, and replacing the master cylinder, wheel cylinders, brake shoes, return springs, and rear rubber lines.

Inside, the bench seat was reupholstered in green vinyl, and the choke, throttle, and interior bulbs were replaced. The cabin is also equipped with a defroster, chrome hardware, a glovebox, and hand-crank side windows. A three-spoke steering wheel sits in front of a 100-mph speedometer, an ammeter, and gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer reads 89k miles, with about 75 miles added by the current owner, though the total mileage is unknown. The speedometer cable was replaced under the seller’s ownership.

The overhauled 235.5ci inline-six engine had its cylinder head rebuilt, intake manifold gaskets replaced, and a new single carburetor with an oil bath air cleaner installed. Additional parts replaced include various valves, lifters, seals, and gaskets. A tune-up with fluid changes was performed, and the ignition wires, battery, and battery cables were replaced in 2024.

Power is delivered to the rear wheels via a column-shifted three-speed manual transmission.
