1955 Chevrolet Bel Air

This authentic Bel Air embodies the perfect 1950s color palette! It has undergone a body-off-frame restoration, preserving its vintage charm while incorporating modern upgrades. Powered by a crate Ram Jet engine and paired with an overdrive transmission, it also features air conditioning, four-wheel disc brakes, and a custom suspension. With just 3,124 miles since its restoration, it’s ready to impress.

EXTERIOR: The body remains true to its original design and is in pristine condition, showing no rust or damage. The fit and finish are impeccable, with doors that close seamlessly. Repainted in its factory colors—Shadow Gray and Coral—the glossy, smooth surface shines. Every piece of chrome and trim was replaced during restoration, including optional bumper guards, rocker moldings, fingernail guards, fuel door trim, and dual mirrors. LED taillights and a third brake light are modern touches. A new windshield and weatherstripping were also installed. Its lowered stance is accentuated by chrome Foose wheels—17 inches in the front, 18 inches in the rear—wrapped in Nitto performance tires.

INTERIOR: The cabin stays mostly stock with subtle improvements. Correct tight weave carpet covers the floor, complemented by Bel Air floor mats. Seats were re-cushioned and reupholstered, and new door panels feature custom handles. The headliner, visors, and Bel Air chrome ribs are all new. Seat belts were added for safety. The metal trim is painted to match the exterior, while the dashboard sports new trim and modern gauges, including a tachometer. The chrome tilt steering column has an updated shift indicator with overdrive markings, and a retro stereo fits perfectly in the original location.

ENGINE COMPARTMENT: The engine bay houses a GM Performance crate Ram Jet 350, producing 351 hp. The fuel injection offers modern technology while retaining a classic look. Polished chrome Chevrolet valve covers, Doug’s coated headers, and a serpentine belt system with billet pulleys, polished A/C compressor, and alternator enhance the presentation. The car is equipped with modern power steering and a CPP steering box, as well as a Wilwood billet master cylinder with a chrome power brake booster. It runs cool thanks to a Walker aluminum radiator, and the electric wiper system is an upgrade. The engine bay is clean and well-organized.

TRUNK COMPARTMENT: The trunk is painted to match the car, solid, and includes a reproduction mat. It also comes complete with a jack and spare tire.

UNDERSIDE: During the restoration, the body was removed from the frame. The suspension features tubular control arms and adjustable coilover gas shocks in the front, with new springs, lowering blocks, and Viking dual adjustable gas shocks in the rear. The steering has been rebuilt, and a new fuel system installed, along with a custom exhaust. A Wilwood brake system with drilled and slotted discs on all four wheels ensures excellent stopping power. The engine block is clean Chevy Orange, and the car has a high-torque starter. The 700R-4 overdrive automatic transmission is an upgrade. The floors and frame are clean and painted black.

SERVICE: Our inspection included adjusting the shifter, replacing reverse light bulbs, tightening the wiper switch, and installing a battery hold down.
